Tesla has officially announced its strategic plan to introduce a broader portfolio of AI-driven and Intelligent products to the Chinese market. According to Grace Tao, Vice President of Tesla China, the company is deepening its commitment to the region, underscoring China's pivotal role within Tesla's global supply chain and sales ecosystem.
Highlighting the strong integration of local resources, Tao revealed that Tesla currently collaborates with over 400 Chinese suppliers, more than 60 of which have been integrated into its global supply network. Furthermore, the parts localization rate at Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory has successfully surpassed 95%.
In terms of market presence and infrastructure, Tesla continues to expand its footprint across the country. As of March 2026, the EV maker operates 588 directly owned stores across 119 mainland Chinese cities. To support its growing user base, Tesla has also established a robust charging network, comprising over 2,500 Supercharger stations and more than 12,000 indiVidual connectors nationwide.
