STOCKHOLM — Pit, a Stockholm-based AI startup founded in 2025, has announced the completion of a $16 million seed funding round. The Investment was led by the prominent venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Lakestar, the Stena and Lundin families, and a coalition of angel investors including executives from OpenAI, anthropic, Google, Revolut, and Deel.
Co-founded by Adam Jafer (co-founder of Voi) and former technical leads from Klarna and iZettle, Pit AIms to replace rigid SaaS tools and fRAGmented Excel workflows with custom AI-generated internal software. The company offers a dual-platform solution: Pit Studio, which automates software system generation, and Pit Cloud, which handles compliance infrastructure.
According to Pit, their system can be deployed in days or weeks. Early pilot projects with CLIents such as Voi, Tre, Stena Recycling, and Kry have shown significant efficiency gains:

This funding marks another significant bet on the Swedish tech ecosystem by a16z, following their recent pre-seed investment in dental AI startup Dentio.
