Stripe Unveils 288 Features to Build the Economic Infrastructure for the AI Era
SAN FRANCISCO — Stripe, the programmable Financial Services company, unveiled 288 new products and features at its annual Stripe Sessions conference on April 29, continuing to build out the economic infrastructure for the AI era. The sweeping set of releases is designed to help AI companies accelerate growth, enable traditional businesses to adapt to AI-driven changes, prevent token fraud, and empower AI Agents to become genuine economic participants.
"AI represents the most profound platform shift for the Economy since the internet. In the near future, the vast majority of online transACTions will be conducted by AI agents. Today, everyone from startups to large enterprises is building this capability on Stripe," said Patrick Collison, co-founder and CEO of Stripe. "The AI transition demands entirely new economic infrastructure, foundational capabilities, and productization—that's the core logic behind the 288 products and features we're announcing today."
Agentic Commerce Suite Now Supports Google
Last year, Stripe introduced its agentic commerce Suite, enabling businesses to sell their products within AI APPlications through a single integration. Brands such as Kate Spade, Best Buy, and Coach are already using the suite for everyday sales.
Today, Stripe announced a partnership with google, allowing businesses to sell to consumers within AI Mode and the Gemini app. Companies including Quince, Fanatics, and JD Sports will soon integrate this capability. This follows similar Partnerships Stripe has already established with OpenAI, Microsoft, and Meta. Stripe is also bringing the Agentic Commerce Suite to major platforms, making it easy for businesses on Wix, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, and others to sell directly to customers within AI applications.
Introducing Link Wallet for AI agents
Link, a consumer wallet with over 250 million users globally, will now officially support AI Agents. Starting today, users can authorize their AI agents to make payments on their behalf. For example, when using openclaw, an agent can monitor reservation availability at popular restaurants and pay a deposit when necessary. The system generates a one-time virtual card for each task, and every payment requires user authorization—eliminating the risk of exposing real payment credentials to agents.
"If AI can solve Nobel Prize-level physics problems but can't buy a domain name, something is clearly broken," said Will Gaybrick, President of Product and Business at Stripe. "The core philosophy behind this update is empowering agents, which we believe will unlock enormous growth potential for businesses."
Launching Streaming Payments for AI-Native Business Models
Over the past year, as AI usage has exploded, a new challenge has emerged: how to charge for Token Consumption. Agents consume tokens at machine speed, meaning businesses incur real costs before receiving payment. The ideal model is pay-as-you-go—billing in real time based on token usage—but existing payment systems cannot handle high-frequency microtransactions at milliSECond scale, given the tiny amounts and rapid consumption speeds. Solving this requires two capabilities: precise tracking (knowing exactly when and where tokens are used) and precise settlement (the ability to collect high-frequency Micropayments).
To address this, Stripe launched streaming Payments, an AI-native business model that combines Metronome's precise tracking with stablecoin micropayments on the Tempo blockchain. For the first time, businesses can get paid the instant every single token is consumed. As tokens become increASIngly fungible like money, real-time Streaming Payments form a critical part of Stripe's economic infrastructure for AI.
Strengthening Fraud Defenses Against Token Theft
As AI applications proliferate, fraud is evolving: attackers are no longer just stealing funds—they're stealing tokens. They create fake accounts in bulk to exhaust sign-up credits, abuse free trials, and generate usage charges that can never be collected.
Data shows that on Stripe-powered AI Services, one in every six sign-up attempts comes from bad actors, and free trial abuse has more than doubled over the past six months. In response, Stripe has expanded its Radar fraud prevention system with new protections against token theft. Radar now evaluates sign-ups and usage behavior in real time using Stripe's network signals. In the past month alone, Radar blocked over 3.3 million high-risk sign-ups for eight high-growth AI companies.
Stripe Treasury Expands with Free, Real-Time Transfers Between Businesses
A new type of company is emerging on Stripe: lean in structure, phenomenally fast-growing, and inherently global in customer base. These companies want Stripe to serve not just as their revenue intake system but as their complete financial infrastructure.
In response, Stripe introduced the new Stripe Treasury: a global business account that enables companies to hold funds in 15 currencies and move money 24/7. Currently, businesses on the Stripe platform conduct 4.8 million transactions with each other daily. With Stripe Treasury, U.S. users can now make these transfers in real time and for free.
Additionally, businesses can now:
Operate Treasury through AI services like ChatGPT
Earn yield on both fiat and stablecoin balances
Receive 2% cashback on card payments
Send payouts to recipients in 100 countries via fiat, and 160 countries via stablecoin
Digital Asset Accounts to Power Global Fintech innovation
Many fintech companies are adopting stablecoins to build global financial applications, but doing so requires navigating a fRAGmented set of integrations—fiat on/off ramps, yield sources, card issuance, and more—along with deep crypto expertise.
Today, Stripe and Privy jointly announced digital asset Accounts. Through a single API, digital Asset Accounts provide the infrastructure companies need to build financial products with stablecoins. Companies including Ramp, Deel, and DoorDash are already using this capability to expand their global Operations.
Stripe Projects Now Generally Available with New Partners
Stripe Projects allows developers—or their AI agents—to integrate all the services needed to deploy a product directly within the environment where they write (or generate) code. As one of Stripe's most anticipated products, it drew thousands of developers to its waitlist within two days of its preview launch last month. As of today, Stripe Projects is available to all users and adds 14 new partners, including Render, Twilio, Sentry, WorkOS, Browserbase, GitLab, and ElevenLabs. These join existing partners to bring the total ecosystem to 32 service providers, including Vercel, Clerk, Supabase, Hugging Face, and Cloudflare.
"Vibe Coding was the keyword of 2025—now it's about vibe deploying. Stripe Projects helps developers do exactly that," said John Collison, co-founder and President of Stripe. "Stripe Projects provides a one-stop shop for deploying all the tools developers need to ship their products."
