On June 6, SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son announced in a CNBC interview that OpenAI has achieved a major milestone where AI is ACTively participating in the design and development of its own subsequent models. He emphASIzed that this "AI designing AI" paradigm will rapidly expand across mainstream AI systems, making it increasingly difficult for human engineers to independently design more powerful models.
Son DeFined Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) as AI that is 10,000 times smarter than humans. Consequently, he drastically shortened his Timeline for achieving ASI from a previously estimated 10 years to within the next 2 years. Furthermore, he revealed that he Personally uses ChatGPT for 2 to 3 hours every day. Looking ahead, Son predicted that within the next few years, AI will surpass human capabilities in 70% to 80% of academic and Professional disciplines.
