NVIDIA has made its first foray into legal Technology through its venture capital Arm, NVentures, backing Swedish AI startup Legora at a Valuation of $5.6 billion. The Investment is part of a broader push by the chip giant to expand its startup funding footprint worldwide.

Legora disclosed exclusively to CNBC on Thursday that Nvidia participated in a 50millionextensionofitsSeriesDfundinground.Thisextensionbringstheroundstotalto600 million, following an initial close in March. Other participants in the extension include Atlassian, Adams Street Partners, and Insight Partners.

The move underscores a growing trend of investors pouring capital into high-potential AI Startups, betting on the technology’s ability to overhaul industries and deliver significant efficiency gAIns. For Nvidia, ramping up startup investments has become a strategic priority, as the company seeks to deepen ties with emerging firms by offering not just funding but also technical expertise and supply chain support. According to Dealroom data, Legora marks Nvidia's first investment in the Legal AI SECtor, though the exACT size of its stake was not disclosed.

Legora develops AI Agents and tools designed to help lawyers automate and streamline complex workflows. The company recently launched a high-profile advertising campaign featuring actor Jude Law, built around the tagline: “Law just got more attractive.”

Legora has experienced explosive growth over the past year, scaling its workforce from 40 to 400 employees across offices in Stockholm, London, New York, Denver, Sydney, and Bengaluru. The company says it has recently surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue and now serves tens of thousands of legal Professionals at major enterprises, including Barclays, and leading law firms such as white & Case, HSFK, and Linklaters.
