OpenAI has updated its Chrome extension so ChatGPT can access a user's open browser tabs, summarize their content, and in Work mode use "Computer Use" to fill out forms or compare products across multiple tabs. The extension is available to all ChatGPT plans.
OpenAI has upgraded ChatGPT's Google Chrome extension so it can view the browser tabs a user already has open. When users tag Chrome in ChatGPT's web or desktop app, ChatGPT can incorporate tab content into its answers, as shown in a demo comparing three open tabs of sofas. OpenAI frames the update as bringing computer-use capabilities to anyone using Chrome.
