HrdWyr Secures $13 Million Series A funding to Power the Next Generation of AI-Native Semiconductors
BENGALURU – HrdWyr, a Bengaluru-based semiconductor startup, has successfully raised $13 million (APProximately ₹124 crore) in a Series A funding round led by Ideaspring Capital. The Investment round also saw participation from Singularity AMC, Avatar Growth Capital, and existing investor Persistent Systems.
The company plans to utilize the fresh capital to accelerate the development of its AI-Native System-on-Chip (AISoC) products and expand its customer footprint in global markets.
ReDeFining Chip Architecture with AI-Native Design
Founded in 2023 by industry veterans Ramamurthy Sivakumar and Guruswamy Ganesh, HrdWyr operates as a full-stack, fabless semiconductor product company. Unlike traditional models focused on IP licensing or service-led approaches, HrdWyr distinguishes itself by integrating Artificial Intelligence directly into the chip architecture.
This "AI-native" approach enables devices to process and respond to data in real-time at the edge, rather than relying on cloud infrastructure. The startup targets high-volume and cost-sensitive industries where power efficiency and low latency are prioritized over raw computing performance. Key application areas for HrdWyr’s Technology include:
strategic partnerships and Market Expansion
As part of its strategic push into the consumer technology sector, HrdWyr recently announced a partnership with the prominent audio and wearable brand, boAt.
HrdWyr positions itself as one of India's early AI-native chip startups focused on building semiconductor products for the global stage. The company aims to accelerate the adoption of "Physical AI" applications, where advanced Intelligence seamlessly merges with real-world systems.
A Boost for India’s Semiconductor Ecosystem
This funding round comes at a time of increasing investor and policy interest in the Indian semiconductor ecosystem, driven by global supply chain diversification and a push to reduce reliance on specific manufACTuring hubs.
According to Inc42’s India Semiconductor Rise Report 2026, the Indian semiconductor market is projected to grow from approximately $62 billion in 2026 to $155 billion by 2031. This growth is fueled by rising domestic demand, robust policy support, and the global shift towards supply chain Resilience.
Under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), the government has committed approximately ₹76,000 crore toward manufacturing support and design-linked incentives. Recently, the Union Cabinet approved two new semiconductor fabrication projects in Gujarat worth ₹3,936 crore, bringing the total number of approved projects under ISM to 12, with a planned investment of roughly ₹1.64 lakh crore.
Growing Investor Interest in AI infrastructure
Investor appetite for semiconductor and AI Infrastructure startups in India is steadily rising. Earlier this year, Bengaluru-based Turiyam.ai raised $4 million to build AI Compute infrastructure focused on inference workloads. Data from Inc42 indicates that over 130 semiconductor startups are currently active in India, working on analog design, edge AI chips, RISC-V architecture, and packAGIng technologies.
