Artificial Intelligence firm anthropic has agreed to deliver a specialized briefing to the Financial Stability Board (FSB) regarding its advanced AI model, Mythos. According to two sources familiar with the matter, the session was initiated at the request of Andrew Bailey, Governor of the Bank of England and ChAIr of the FSB.
The primary objective of this high-level briefing is to disclose critical SECurity vulnerabilities within the global financial system's cyber defense infrastructure, which were identified by the Claude-Mythos preview model. The presentation aims to provide key treasury and central bank officials from G20 nations with a comprehensive overview of the model's capabilities and the potential systemic risks it exposes.
In a parallel development, the Financial Stability Board is currently drafting a report on robust AI prACTices within the financial sector. A draft of these compliance guidelines is scheduled to be released for public consultation next month. Both Anthropic and the FSB have deCLIned to comment on the specifics of their upcoming communication.
