Alibaba Unveils QoderWake: The First Production-Grade digital employee for Real-World Roles
April 30, 2026 – Today, Alibaba launched two major Agent products, QoderWake and Qoder Mobile, marking a significant shift from AI assistance to autonomous AI labor. These products aim to comprehensively address the needs of both enterprises and indiViduals by transforming how work is done.
Introducing QoderWake: The "Colleague" in Your Workflow
Unlike traditional AI tools that merely assist with tasks, QoderWake is designed to be the industry's first secure, controllable, and continuously evolving production-grade Digital Employee. It is capable of taking on specific roles such as Software Engineer, Operations Specialist, and Sales Representative.
While recent months have seen the rise of General-purpose Agent tools (such as openclaw, Hermes, and Cowork) that improve individual efficiency—compressing the time for coding, Copywriting, or data analysis—the overall Productivity gains for teams have been limited. The core bottleneck lies in the lack of systematic training for real-world job scenarios. Context switching, handovers, and coordination between general-purpose Agents often hinder continuous task progression.
QoderWake solves this with an innovative Harness-First architecture. It features a multi-dimensional self-evolution system where every execution is categorized and solidified into five dimensions: mEMOry, Skills, strategies, validation rules, and workflows. This APProach solves the "forgetting everything after execution" problem common in general Agents.

This digital employee is already operational within Alibaba, autonomously completing feedback classification, log analysis, root cause localization, and automatic repair code generation. For instance, root cause analysis for a single issue has been reduced from 30 minutes to just 2 minutes.
