Google is reportedly preparing to invest up to billion in AI startup anthropic, significantly deepening its strategic partnership in the Artificial Intelligence sector. Under the terms of the proposed deal, google will initially commit $10 billion in cash. If specific commercial targets are met, Google plans to inject an additional $30 billion, bringing the total potential Investment to $40 billion.
In addition to the capital injection, the agreement includes a substantial infrastructure component. Google has pledged to provide Anthropic with at least 5 gigawatts (GW) of computing power, a move designed to support the rapid scaling of Anthropic's AI models and infrastructure. This development marks a major escalation in the competition among tech giants to secure top AI talent and compute resources.
