Singapore, April 29, 2026 – Cognition, the pioneering AI startup behind the autonomous software engineer Devin, officially announced today that it has selected Singapore as its Asia-Pacific (APAC) headquarters. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in the company's global expansion, AIming to oversee and accelerate Operations across Southeast Asia, Australia, India, and South Korea.
The decision to establish a regional hub in Singapore follows Cognition’s recent market entry into Japan and the strategic acquisition of the Singapore-based startup Havana. The Havana team has already been integrated into Cognition’s regional engineering and product divisions, bolstering the company's technical capabilities in the region.
To lead this new chapter, Richard Spence has been APPointed to head APAC operations from Singapore. Under his leadership, the regional office is set to open in Singapore's Central Business District later in 2026, further solidifying the company's commitment to the local tech ecosystem.
Highlighting the immediate impACT of its Technology in the region, Cognition also revealed that OCBC Bank, one of Singapore's leading financial institutions, has adopted its platform for software development. The bank has reported substantial efficiency improvements, citing Productivity gains of up to 30% since implementation.
