ChatGPT Chrome extension gains tab access and Computer Use actions

OpenAI has upgraded ChatGPT's Google Chrome extension so it can view the browser tabs a user already has open. When users tag Chrome in ChatGPT's web or desktop app, ChatGPT can incorporate tab content into its answers, as shown in a demo comparing three open tabs of sofas. OpenAI frames the update as bringing computer-use capabilities to anyone using Chrome.
