METR report finds AI is accelerating Anthropic’s model development

AI safety organization METR conducted an 11-week investigation into Anthropic’s use of AI for research and development. The report says Anthropic’s models are improving roughly twice as quickly as they were a year ago, offering evidence that AI-assisted development may be accelerating progress on more powerful AI systems. Researchers are concerned about the potential safety implications of this feedback loop.
