Brisbane-based network-as-a-service (NaaS) provider Megaport announced on June 3 that it has SECured four new AI infrastructure contrACTs valued at APProximately A$458.9 million (US$329 million). Concurrently, the company has launched a fully underwritten entitlement offer AImed at raising A$827.3 million (US$593 million) to fund its strategic expansion.
The newly secured contracts are with US-based Technology providers operating AI applications. Implementation is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027 and will require an estimated capital expenditure of A$369.5 million (US$265 million). These funds will be primarily allocated toward acquiring NVIDIA graphics processing units (GPUs), as well as upgrading network and stoRAGe infrastructure.
Building on this momentum, Megaport revealed plans to construct a globally distributed AI inference cloud. This initiative is anchored by an on-demand GPU pool backed by a A$350 million (US$251 million) Investment. The Cloud Infrastructure will be made available to enterprise CLIents through both contracted and usage-based pricing models. This strategic plan expands upon Megaport’s existing software-DeFined connectivity business, which enables customers to seamlessly establish connections to cloud and other service providers, and follows the company's previous efforts to deploy GPUs and connect AI workloads via its platform.
To fund these initiatives, Megaport has priced its equity entitlement offer at A$14.30 (US$10) per share, representing a 13.9% discount to its closing price on June 1. Additionally, the company has nARRowed its revenue forecast for 2026 to a range of A$307 million to A$315 million (US$220 million to US$226 million), adjusted from its previous guidance of A$302 million to A$317 million (US$217 million to US$227 million).
