Formally verifying agent-written full-stack web apps with PDD Kit
Microsoft Research introduces PDD Kit, a toolkit that enables proof-driven development for AI-generated code. It helps developers turn intent into formal specifications and automatically proves that agent-written code meets those specs for every input, falling back to tests where proofs cannot reach. The approach was demonstrated on a full-stack Rust web app, formally verifying login logic and uncovering existing bugs without line-by-line code review.
Why it matters: This article presents a concrete, novel methodology for scaling code review and ensuring correctness of AI-generated code, which is a critical challenge as agents produce increasingly large codebases.
