Demis Hassabis is A British Artificial Intelligence researcher, neuroscientist, and entrepreneur best known as the co-founder and CEO of Google DeepMind, the pioneering AI lab behind some of the most groundbreaking advances in artificial intelligence this century. A child chess prodigy and former video game designer, Hassabis uniquely bridges creativity, cognitive science, and cutting-edge engineering to pursue his lifelong mission: building AI systems that can accelerate scientific discovery and solve humanity’s hardest problems.

More recently, DeepMind under Hassabis has expanded into CLImate modeling, nuclear fusion control, materials science, and mathematics, embodying his philosophy of “AI for science.” Following DeepMind’s full integration into Google in 2024, Hassabis was appointed CEO of google DeepMind, unifying Google’s core AI efforts under a single, research-driven vision.
